The call for applications to register and compete for the titles of queen, king, and children’s kings of the Veracruz Carnival 2027, who will make up the Royal Court, is officially open.
The registration period will remain open until October 2 at 2:00 p.m. However, if you are interested, we recommend registering quickly, as the call establishes a maximum of six participants per category, meaning it could close before the deadline.
According to the guidelines, adult participants must reach a minimum accumulated goal of 135,768 pesos, including the initial registration payment.
For the children’s categories, the minimum accumulated goal for the first count will be 54,307 pesos and 20 cents, also including the initial payment.
The final count will take place on Thursday, November 19, 2026, concluding the process to determine the Royal Court of the Veracruz Carnival 2027.
Those interested in registering to become part of the Royal Court must go to the Carnival offices located on the ground floor of the Municipal Palace, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
According to Daniel Lois, head of the Tourism and Carnival Directorate of the Veracruz municipal government, the Veracruz Carnival 2027 will take place from February 2 to 10.
These Are the Requirements
For the adult category, the registration fee will be equivalent to 600 UMAs, corresponding to 70,386 pesos. For children, registration will be 240 UMAs, equivalent to 28,154 pesos and 40 cents.
Requirements to Become Queen of the Veracruz Carnival 2027
Be a woman by birth and be from Veracruz or the daughter of a father or mother from Veracruz.
Be between 18 and 35 years old.
The requirements for the king are: be a man by birth, be from Veracruz or the son of a father or mother from Veracruz, and be 18 years old or older.
The requirements for the children’s kings are: have been born in the state of Veracruz or be the son or daughter of a father or mother from Veracruz, and be between 6 and 12 years old.
In addition, as a general requirement, applicants in all categories must not have been king or queen of the Veracruz Carnival during the previous five years.

- Birth certificate.
- Valid official identification.
- Certificate of completed high school education or an equivalent qualification recognized by the SEP.
- Two color close-up photographs and two full-body photographs.
- A video of intent on a USB drive or a written statement explaining their reasons for participating.
- Duly signed registration form and liability waiver.
- Official receipt for the registration payment.
For applicants to become children’s kings and queens, the required documents are:
- Birth certificate.
- Valid official identification of the participant, representative, and guardian.
- Proof of enrollment or school attendance.
- Two color close-up photographs and two full-body photographs.
- A video of intent on a USB drive or a written statement explaining their reasons for participating.
- Duly signed registration form and liability waiver.
- Official receipt for the registration payment.
