Housing Prices in Nuevo León Rise 6.1% Annually in August
Housing prices in Nuevo León recorded an annual increase of 6.1% during August, exceeding the 4.4% increase observed nationwide.
According to the Banorte housing price indicator, in August, national housing prices recorded 4.4% growth compared with the same period of the previous year.
The price per square meter of a home in Nuevo León reached 57,203 pesos during the eighth month of the year, reflecting an increase of 0.2% compared with the previous month.
Regarding real estate supply by segment, new housing accounted for 39.6%; properties from one to five years old, 17.6%; properties from 20 to 50 years old, 11.8%; properties under construction, 11.4%; properties from 10 to 20 years old, 10.7%; and properties from five to 10 years old, 8.8%.
As for the distribution by property type, houses represent 57.7% of the available supply, while apartments account for the remaining 42.3%.
Nuevo León ranks second nationwide for the most expensive housing, behind Mexico City, where the price per square meter is 59,555 pesos. Nuevo León follows with 57,203 pesos, Jalisco ranks third with 48,742 pesos, Baja California with 41,078 pesos, Sinaloa with 40,935 pesos, and the State of Mexico with 38,846 pesos. Meanwhile, Tamaulipas has the most affordable housing prices, at 19,389 pesos per square meter.
