The third international flight that the Tijuana airport will have will be the reactivation of the Tijuana – Beijing flight of the Hainan Airlines company, which will be twice a week starting on July 19, as confirmed this Monday by the secretary of tourism of Baja California, Miguel Aguiñiga Rodríguez.

During the press conference for the reactivation of the temporary Tijuana-Guadalajara flight, Aguiñaga Rodriguez mentioned that part of the work that the secretary has had in charge is to open the communication channels with new destinations for the state’s airports, so that by the end of 2024 “we will have three international routes leaving from the Tijuana airport, which would be Tijuana- Phoenix, Tijuana- Las Vegas and Tijuana- Beijing.”

These three international routes will join the 40 national routes that the Tijuana airport already has.

According to Aguiñaga Rodriguez, the flight serves three main markets: “visitors from family and friends, we must remember that we have a very large Chinese community, the second market is business, we have plants and a lot of business tourism with China, and finally tourism.”

Although he did not give specific figures, the secretary mentioned the importance of the holiday period for tourism in the state, so he emphasized that the goal is to exceed visitor numbers in 2023.
