Written and directed by Vianey Castillo, and presented by the Caja de Quimeras company, this production addresses the issue of gentrification and other related themes, using cabaret theater and characters from famous legends in the state.
With the distinctive style of the famous callejoneadas, the staging provides a tour, mainly to local people, seeking to make visible and raise awareness about the social, economic and cultural displacement that currently occurs in the state and in other parts of the country and the world due to gentrification.
Thus, one day, the legendary Ana and Carlos, from Callejón del Beso, receive a mysterious letter with a strange offer from foreign investors to turn their house into a luxury tourist experience. How much are they willing to risk to avoid eviction?
Callejoneada: a story of gentrification in Guanajuato is recommended for audiences ages 15 and up; This will be presented on November 26 and 27 at the María Grever Theater, both performances at 7:00 p.m. and with free admission.
