A gas station located on the Mazatlán-Culiacán highway was attacked with gunfire after a confrontation between armed civilians in the municipality of Elota, Sinaloa.

The gas station had multiple bullet holes in its facade, and several fire extinguishers were seen next to the pumps, which may have been used by the workers.

The Ministry of Public Security confirmed the confrontation in the area, noting that officers from various agencies were patrolling the area.

Around 6:00 a.m., a 24-year-old man was admitted to a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound. It was later reported that he had died as a result of his injuries.

Another death was also reported in the same municipality, but authorities have not confirmed the death.

Meanwhile, in the municipality of Navolato, the bodies of three people were found with signs of violence.

The discovery was made in the Juan Aldama municipality, and according to authorities, their hands were tied behind their backs.

Residents say they reported the bodies on Sunday afternoon after hearing gunshots in that area, but received no response from the police.
