State Governor Rubén Rocha Moya announced that federal and state forces will strengthen security in the southern municipalities of Escuinapa and El Rosario, where roadblocks were reported, with trucks stolen by criminal groups.

He commented that this issue, which arose last Monday, was addressed at the Security Roundtable, where an agreement was reached to design a permanent security plan for that area, which borders the neighboring state of Nayarit.

Regarding the discovery of two people dead from gunshot wounds on a road leading to the community of El Camarón, in the municipality of Escuinapa, there is still no evidence that these deaths could be related to the acts of violence that occurred on the free and toll roads.

Rocha Moya stated that there is no evidence to conclude that the confrontations reported on the highways in the municipalities of Escuinapa and El Rosario were due to the entry of armed individuals from the neighboring state of Nayarit.

He commented that the clearance of the toll road by the National Guard was delayed, as criminal groups placed a trailer in the middle of the road and set it on fire. Therefore, measures are being taken to respond more quickly in case similar acts of violence occur again.
