Tamaulipas businesses will join the initiative called “Very Mexican Friday.” Starting at the end of September, sales will be encouraged with promotions and offers, with access to consumers in physical stores and on digital platforms.
There are 20,000 establishments affiliated with the Confederation of National Chambers of Commerce (Concanaco) ready to participate, declared Abraham Rodríguez Padrón, head of Fecanaco in the state, after the initiative’s presentation this Thursday at the National Palace to President Claudia Sheinbaum.
“Today I come to talk to you about the most valuable thing Mexico has to offer: its families and family businesses, those who open the door every day, pay their payroll, and sustain the economy of our communities. With ‘Very Mexican Friday,’ we want to contribute to the strengthening of Mexico, Tamaulipas, and Matamoros, through honest work, community, and shared prosperity,” he declared.
The initiative consists of consumers finding promotions, local experiences, and distinctive features at participating businesses on the last Friday of each month, identified with a distinctive seal.
At the same time, they will have a QR code that will allow them to locate nearby participating establishments on a digital map. In the first phase, the total number of participating establishments will increase to more than 20,000.
“Family businesses don’t just sell; they represent memory, heritage, work, and community. With this activation, we want producing and purchasing in Mexico to translate into more jobs, local taxes, security, and well-being,” he stated.
The announcement will be made at the National Assembly of Family Businesses and Companies on September 4th. The opening day of “Very Mexican Fridays” is scheduled for the 26th, and will be repeated on the last Friday of each month.
In Tamaulipas, there are 18 Canaco offices in the cities with the largest populations and number of participating businesses, both in the northern and southern regions.
