HYDE returns to Mexico with his new album, Inside. The Japanese rock icon talks about anime, music, and his connection with fans in Mexico City.
There are artists whose stage presence is not only heard, but felt, and HYDE is one of them. In case you didn’t know, HYDE is a Japanese artist renowned for his strength and dark yet warm theatricality. He recently returned to Mexico to share his most personal, intense, and authentic moment.
This return to Mexico, the country that has always welcomed him with open arms, isn’t just a concert: it’s an encounter with the passion of his fans and with his very essence.
The best part is that we had the opportunity to chat with him before his concert, and this is a bit of what he had to say:
“It’s been a long time since I was back. In the middle of everything with Covid, so coming back took longer than expected. But I finally finished the new album, and I’m happy to finally be able to present it to all of you.” – HYDE
HYDE’s new album is a journey into his inner self and his journey as an artist. Each song is a reflection of himself: strength, melancholy, theatricality, and vulnerability, where each emotion coexists in harmony.
HYDE says it simply, but also with the sincerity of someone who feels every note. On this album, the balance between the power of his songs and his emotions comes alive. As he himself says:
“It’s not that I think about it too much, but I always enjoy experimenting with different forms of expression when I make music. On this album, for example, there are songs like ‘Last Song,’ a very sad ballad, that show a different side of me.” – HYDE
The artist explained that his concerts now have more nuances thanks to the diversity of emotions he captured in “Inside.” Each song is a chapter, each chord a sigh, each lyric a confession, and he reflects that on stage.
“I feel like my expressions have expanded now: some things are more intense, others are sadder, and all of that has become a key element for the concert. Thanks to that, the shows now have many more nuances and twists.” – HYDE
An important aspect of HYDE that we can’t overlook is his contribution to anime music. This animated genre has been a hit with Mexican audiences and continues to gain momentum in our country.
His voice has brought epic series like Fullmetal Alchemist, Attack on Titan, Kimetsu no Yaiba, and Kuroshitsuji to life; his music not only accompanies the stories, but makes them even more intense and memorable.
“Anime is a fundamental piece of content in Japan, and having my music used in it is an honor. It also helps a lot in spreading my music around the world. Often, these collaborations push me to try things I might not have done on my own, and that makes it even more fun.” – HYDE
Many people in Mexico discovered him through these songs, but it was his incredible voice that stayed with them!

The connection with the Mexican public
Although language can be a barrier, HYDE’s music unites hearts. In Mexico, fans sometimes sing along without understanding every word, but we capture the passion conveyed by each of his lyrics, and he feels it deeply:
“That people can understand my music even though we live in different countries and speak different languages is something very special to me! In places like the United States or England, everything revolves around English; on the other hand, in Europe, I feel like people connect much more with Japanese music. And every time I come here, the reception is so warm that it fills me with joy.” – HYDE
An epic HYDE concert in Mexico City
Each HYDE concert is an epic reunion, full of emotions and good vibes, where his talent and the passion of his fans are celebrated. He describes it this way:
“It’s been so long… I think the last time I came was with VAMPS. Since then, I’ve learned a lot. Now I feel like I’ve learned more ways to express myself, and at tomorrow’s concert, I want to show all that side of myself that I’ve been developing. I’m very excited for the fans in Mexico to be able to see it with their own eyes, and I’m really curious to know what they felt after the show.”
HYDE doesn’t just sing; He creates worlds, awakens emotions, and connects people of different cultures and languages through his music.
His return to Mexico isn’t just a concert: it’s an epic moment, a gift filled with good vibes between him and his fans, where every note and every glance comes alive. And as always, the audience was ready to welcome him with open arms and celebrate alongside this Japanese rock icon.
