A video is circulating on social media showing a woman hitting a member of the Mexico City Citizen Security Secretariat.
The video quickly went viral, and moments later, the agency issued a statement announcing the woman’s arrest.
The agency added that the incident occurred Thursday morning when a patrol car was requested via radio on Altamira Street, in the Miravalle neighborhood of the Benito Juárez borough, following a report of an aggressive person in the area.
Upon arrival, they made contact with a citizen who reported that his ex-partner had arrived at his home, tried to force his way in, and when he denied her entry, began insulting him and slamming the door.
“An officer tried to calm the woman down, but she became even more aggressive and continued shouting and insulting, until, at one point, the officer was calling for support via radio, and the woman kicked him… Upon the arrival of another police unit, the woman was detained and brought before the Civic Judge, who issued the corresponding referral notice,” he explained.
