Before the end of the year, the municipality will have 10,000 new LED streetlights providing better illumination and greater security for its residents, thanks to the “Mazatlán Shines” program promoted by the government led by Estrella Palacios Domínguez.

Interviewed this Friday, December 5, 2025, after concluding the inspection of a water and sanitation project in the Infonavit Jabalíes neighborhood, the mayor of Mazatlán said that in the final days of the year, they will intensify the work of replacing malfunctioning or obsolete streetlights with the new LED lights.

“We project to close the year with 10,000 LED streetlights from the Mazatlán Shines program. This program is here to stay for the three years of our administration, and we will continue because we are convinced that a better-lit city is a safer city for all Mazatlán residents. Wherever we receive a request, we go and replace the streetlights.”

Mayor Estrella Palacios emphasized that the “Mazatlán Shines” program not only serves neighborhoods in the city and rural communities, but also sports facilities like the “Benito Juárez” sports complex, where the lighting along the walkways was recently upgraded.

She mentioned that, thanks to the community outreach events of the “With You Mazatlán” program, which they conduct in both urban and rural areas, they receive all kinds of service requests, but primarily those related to street lighting.

“Last week we were in the López Mateos neighborhood, the week before in the Pancho Villa neighborhood, and we’re always listening to the people, addressing their requests. And what they ask for most through ‘With You Mazatlán’ is precisely the ‘Mazatlán Shines’ program, and that’s where they take the opportunity to make these requests.”
