Regional monitoring shows relevant differences between supermarkets and highlights the entity for its favorable prices.
The fourth most affordable basic basket in prices in the central area of the country was sold in the municipality of Querétaro with a price of 797.80 pesos, according to “Who’s Who in Prices” of the Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco).
In the Bodega Aurrera supermarket located on Constituyentes Oriente Avenue in the Mercurio neighborhood is located this supermarket that had one of the lowest prices in the downtown area.
While, in the entire area, which includes the states of Querétaro, Mexico City, State of Mexico, Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Morelos, Puebla, Querétaro and Tlaxcala, it was found in the Chedraui located in Cuernavaca, Morelos with a price of 770.20 pesos.
On the contrary, in the highest prices of the basic basket, Querétaro was in fifth place, since in the Chedraui supermarket located on Bernardo Quintana Boulevard in Centro Sur it had a price of 836.20 pesos, although it is below the goal estimated by Profeco.
In this region, the highest price was 927.90 pesos in a gold warehouse located in the capital of Puebla, which is above the national price target.
It should be noted that according to the monitoring of the basic basket of the Package against Inflation and Scarcity, it was established that the price of the basic basket cannot exceed 910 pesos.
The calculation of the basic basket is based on 24 products, which are calculated according to the weekly consumption of a household of four, and according to what is established by the defunct Coneval.
And in the monitoring carried out by Profeco at the national level, the most affordable price was at Chedraui Campeche with a price of 750.80 pesos, and the most expensive was at Bodega Aurrera Sur with a price of 927.90 pesos
It should be noted that in the measurement of the price of gasoline, on this occasion Querétaro did not appear among the ranges of most expensive or cheapest.
