The activist organization Sociedad Civil México (Civil Society Mexico) posted a video on its website stating that thanks to the government of Layda Sansores, which rejects criticism, recognizes no limits, and believes the state belongs to her, Morena is now embroiled in a power struggle in Campeche.
This situation arises when power is fought over, not for the sake of families, but for control, and they tear each other apart while insecurity and neglect persist. “The fight isn’t for justice, it’s for power, and the people are paying the price,” the video laments.
Civil Society Mexico asserted: “Layda had already been accused of censoring journalists, including the former director of Tribuna, Jorge Luis González Valdez, and persecuting critics, but now the conflict has exploded within her own party. Ten of the sixteen Morena deputies turned against her and accused her of threats, pressure, and political persecution for not obeying her orders, specifically regarding the state’s debt. In response, police surrounded the Congress building, and there were threats of imprisonment for anyone who rebelled. Faced with this, the legislators revived the immunity they themselves had eliminated to avoid being imprisoned.”
Now, there are two groups of Morena supporters in Campeche: those who obey out of fear and those who resist, in the face of a power that does not accept criticism, recognizes no limits, and believes the state belongs to them. “This is Campeche with Layda Sansores; they are abusive and thuggish,” they declared.
