A member of the Preventive Police suffered a fall Friday night while participating in an operation to escort a motorcycle rally in the city center, on the first day of use of the new units acquired by the municipality.
The incident occurred in the Gran Plaza, where motorcyclists gathered to ride through various city streets, escorted by municipal officers on the motorcycles recently added to the Public Safety fleet.
As the group began to move, one of the officers lost control of his motorcycle and fell along with the vehicle.
The motorcycles are part of an acquisition made with municipal and federal public funds totaling more than 16 million pesos, and they began operating this Friday.
The incident occurred just hours after the units were presented and put into service to reinforce surveillance efforts.
