The State Government has finalized subsidies to help people regularize their homes. These subsidies can cover up to 100 percent of the registration fees with the Institute of Registry and Cadastral Services, as well as the property tax, according to Armando Hernández del Fabro, General Legal Director of the Government Secretariat.

Hernández del Fabro explained that the measure is part of the Permanent Program for Social Titling and Land Regularization, and that the discounts began to be implemented in May after the decree was published in the official gazette, “Tierra y Libertad.”

Who is eligible for the subsidies?

He explained that the subsidies are for homes under the private housing regime, of which, according to the latest study by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), approximately 34,000 are not registered with the municipal cadastre or the Institute of Registry and Cadastral Services itself.

However, he added that those with a title deed and full ownership of ejido land parcels may also be included.

“This is a program with a strong social focus, which in this first stage provides substantial support to those who own privately owned property or, in some cases, those with title deeds and full ownership of ejido land.”

He mentioned that they will soon begin a campaign to promote these subsidies, which consist of discounts on all fees: formalizing contracts, canceling mortgages, registering wills, and others such as the property tax, which came into effect in 2026 as part of the 2026 Economic Package.

He noted that there is already high demand from the public, reflected in the 30 people they advise daily. In addition, they have opened 500 applications, for which the corresponding requirements have already been requested.

He added that interested individuals can visit the offices located at 4 Gutenberg Street, in downtown Cuernavaca, to request more information.
