The Venezuelan duo of Yamil and Andrea Saba will start Sunday’s race at Marina Silcer as the leader, with 13 points, in the final day of the traditional Hobie Cat 16 competition.
The South Americans finished Saturday’s round aboard the boat of Australian world champion Cam Owen and his wife Susan Ghent, who have 17 points, the same as the Guatemalan team of Jasson Hess and his wife, Sofía Ponce Hungler from Yucatán, the current North American and Cummins champions.
The Saba brothers won the first of five races held on Saturday, while the other two were won by the Hess-Ponce duo, the team piloted by Italian Leonardo Morelli, another by Mario Alberto Arantes, and the last by Owen-Ghent.
The final round will start at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. The awards ceremony will be at 4:00 p.m.
