The 2026 Coahuila 1000 will take place from August 13 to 16, featuring a new tourist route from Cuatro Ciénegas to Monclova aimed at boosting tourism and the regional economy.
Coahuila Secretary of Tourism and Magical Towns, Cristina Amezcua González, invited residents of the Central Region to take part in the 2026 edition of the event, which will conclude in Monclova.
She highlighted that the race is one of the country’s most important sports and tourism events and is expected to generate significant economic benefits for the municipalities involved.
During the official presentation in Monclova, Amezcua González explained that this year’s edition will feature a different format by separating the event into a competitive race and a tourism route.
Professional competitors will depart from Torreón and continue to Saltillo, while participants in the recreational tour will be able to join in Cuatro Ciénegas and travel to Monclova.
The secretary noted that this tourism option was created to make participation easier for people who are unable to travel from Torreón.
She added that participants will be able to join directly in Cuatro Ciénegas and enjoy a carefully planned route designed by the event organizers.
Tourist Route to Include Cuatro Ciénegas and Monclova
Amezcua González said that the Coahuila 1000 has built a strong organizational reputation over the years and has become one of the state’s signature events under the administration of Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas.
She explained that the project is organized in coordination with the mayors of the participating municipalities and business leaders from the National Chamber of Commerce (CANACO) of Torreón, which organizes the competition.
According to the secretary, the route will showcase the natural landscapes of several regions of Coahuila while promoting adventure tourism.
She noted that both national and international participants have made the event an annual tradition because of Coahuila’s natural scenery and favorable security conditions.
Amezcua González emphasized that the state provides a safe environment for activities on off-road trails and rural roads thanks to ongoing coordination between state and municipal authorities and security agencies.
She also explained that operational meetings are held before the event to define responsibilities and ensure preparedness for any situation that may arise.
Tourism and Economic Benefits
The secretary described the Coahuila 1000 as a family-oriented event that attracts participants from across Mexico as well as international visitors.
She noted that the route can be completed using off-road vehicles, motorcycles, and other authorized categories, allowing for broad public participation.
Amezcua González encouraged residents of Monclova and the entire Central Region to take advantage of the event’s proximity and participate in the activities scheduled for next week.
She emphasized that, beyond being a sporting competition, the Coahuila 1000 serves as an important tool for promoting tourism and economic development in the host municipalities.
Finally, she reiterated that the 2026 route will include Torreón, Cuatro Ciénegas, Saltillo, and Monclova, where the event will officially conclude, and invited the public to join what she described as a celebration of Coahuila’s natural beauty, culture, and tourism potential.
