Mexico’s weather today will feature a combination of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, hail, and temperatures above 45 degrees Celsius over the coming days, according to the forecast from the National Meteorological Service (SMN).
The Mexican monsoon, together with cyclonic circulations, troughs, low-pressure channels, and divergence in the upper levels of the atmosphere, will favor significant rainfall, mainly across the northern, western, central, southern, and southeastern regions of the country.
The heaviest rainfall is expected in Chihuahua, Durango, and Sinaloa, where accumulations could reach between 75 and 150 millimeters. Very heavy rainfall is also forecast for Sonora, Nayarit, Jalisco, Guanajuato, Michoacán, Oaxaca, and Veracruz.

While storms move across much of the country, the northern region will continue experiencing extreme heat conditions.
The National Meteorological Service forecasts temperatures above 45 degrees Celsius in northeastern Baja California, while Sonora, Chihuahua, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, Michoacán, Guerrero, and Oaxaca could reach between 40 and 45 °C.
In addition, the heat wave will continue in Baja California Sur, Chihuahua, Nuevo León, and Tamaulipas, with the possibility of extending into Coahuila.
