For their outstanding work and commitment to the security of Aguascalientes, 19 members of the State Public Security Secretariat (SSPE), 13 men and six women, were selected to participate in international training in Barranquilla, Colombia, where they will learn new methodologies, strategies, and tools that will help improve their performance and strengthen the work of the department.
The officers, who belong to the Highway Division, will participate from August 25 to 27 in the 2026 National and International Meeting on Research, Innovation, and Technology, at the invitation of the Police Education Directorate of the National Police of Colombia.
During their stay, they will participate in activities related to research, innovation, technology, security, police training, scientific research, military advantage, and strategic management, as well as exchange experiences and best practices with security institutions from other nations.
The Secretary of Public Security of the State, Antonio Martínez Romo, emphasized that the selection of the 19 police officers is also recognition of the work they carry out every day on the state’s highways and access points, as well as an opportunity to incorporate new knowledge into security efforts in Aguascalientes.
“I am proud that our police officers will represent the state department in Colombia. I have asked them to carry the name of Aguascalientes and Mexico with pride, and to represent our institution with dignity, commitment, and professionalism. I am convinced that this experience will strengthen their capabilities and allow them to acquire new knowledge and tools to continue providing security to the families of Aguascalientes,” he said.
Martínez Romo emphasized that the knowledge and experiences acquired can later be shared with the rest of the department, so that this training will also contribute to strengthening the capabilities of the State Police.
Before their departure, he urged the officers to represent Aguascalientes and Mexico with pride and professionalism during their participation in the event.
Finally, the head of the SSPE reiterated that, in accordance with Governor Tere Jiménez’s vision, the state will continue investing in the ongoing training and professional development of law enforcement agencies in order to have increasingly better-prepared police officers capable of responding to current security challenges.
