Gómez Palacio will receive 600 million pesos for sewer system projects, while the Tunal II Dam project moves forward in the capital
The Tunal II Dam, sewer system projects in Gómez Palacio, and housing construction are among the main federal projects mentioned for Durango during President Claudia Sheinbaum’s Second Government Report.
One of the announcements that attracted the most attention in La Laguna was the allocation of 600 million pesos to improve Gómez Palacio’s sewer system. The resources will be used for sanitary infrastructure projects in the municipality.
In Durango’s capital, one of the projects that remains on the table is the Tunal II Dam, a project proposed to increase water availability and address the demand generated by the city’s growth.
Housing is another issue included in the federal projects for the state. The Housing for Well-Being program includes developments in Gómez Palacio and Durango’s capital.
Regarding highways, the presidential report announced the completion of the San Ignacio-Tayoltita highway, which connects Durango with Sinaloa.
The project was completed 100 percent and included 18 structures. According to the information presented during the report, more than 11,000 residents of the area will benefit from this connection.
For communities in the region, the highway represents an improvement in transportation and communication with Sinaloa, as well as facilitating the movement of products and people.
The livestock sector is also among the areas receiving support through federal programs. The actions mentioned include the delivery of breeding bulls to Durango producers for the genetic improvement of livestock.
Thus, the projects announced for Durango range from initiatives to guarantee water supply and improve public services to housing, roads, and support for agricultural producers.
