Looking to adopt a kitten? Head to Miau Fest 2026, where you’ll find everything from contests to delicious food.
Attention cat lovers! Miau Fest 2026 is shaping up to be a carnival-like celebration full of magic, color, and community in Mexico City.
The event will be dedicated to kitties, offering everything from food and adoptions to international music for a weekend surrounded by all things feline. Here are all the details.
The 11th edition of this festival will embrace the exciting theme of “Catrnaval,” a party that promises to transform every corner into an explosion of carnival energy and joy. Attendees can explore countless activities designed for both humans and their feline companions.
The heart of the event will be divided into specialized zones. One of the most important will be the “Conscious Cat Neighborhood,” where 12 guest shelters will showcase kittens ready to find their forever homes. It’s the perfect space for those looking to expand their family responsibly.
For shopping, the “International Cat Market” will bring together more than 70 local and international projects and brands offering unique products: from designer catnip toys to accessories, clothing, and cat-inspired art. Art lovers will also find participating illustrators exhibiting their work.
Music will be a key part of the festivities, with a lineup that includes guest talent specializing in international rhythms and concerts dedicated especially to children, ensuring the whole family enjoys the atmosphere.
And to refuel, the “Flavors of Carnival” food area will offer a diverse culinary selection to suit all tastes.
In addition, there will be interactive workshops, contests to showcase the skills of felines, and a special area called “Oasis Carey,” a refreshing space designed specifically for humans and cats to relax.
This massive event already has official dates and times confirmed. Miau Fest 2026 will take place over two consecutive days.
So mark your calendars for Saturday, May 16th and Sunday, May 17th, 2026.
On both days, Miau Fest 2026 will be open from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, giving you plenty of time to explore all the booths, enjoy the concerts, and, of course, meet the cats available for adoption.
Don’t forget a crucial detail for entry: admission is with a donation of goods (kibble, litter, first-aid supplies, etc.) that will go directly to the 12 participating shelters to support their rescue and care work. It’s a fun way to contribute to a great cause.
The venue chosen for this very special “Catrnaval” is, once again, Huerto Roma Verde.
This green and community space, known for its relaxed atmosphere, is located in the Roma Sur neighborhood, a very central area of Mexico City. The exact address is Jalapa 234, in the Cuauhtémoc borough.
Since it’s in an area with traffic and limited parking, the best way to get there is by public transportation:
Metrobús: The nearest stations are Campeche on Line 1 or Dr. Márquez on Line 3. Both are a short walk away.
Metro: The Centro Médico (Line 3) and Hospital General (Line 3) stations are also within walking distance.
Ecobici: There are several Ecobici bike-sharing stations nearby, which is an excellent sustainable option. If you decide to drive, be prepared to find parking early to avoid any problems on your next visit to Miau Fest 2026.
You’ve got plans for the weekend of May 16th and 17th, 2026, so don’t forget to bring your in-kind donation and plenty of time to enjoy the event at your leisure. And if you’re looking for a new feline best friend, this is your chance to adopt.
