In response to the temporary suspension of operations by Magnicharters Airlines, authorities in Quintana Roo activated an emergency plan to assist passengers stranded at the Cancún International Airport.

The main measure involved arranging free, additional flights, with the support of Viva Aerobús, to ensure the immediate transport of those affected.

Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa reported that this action was coordinated urgently to assist those who had scheduled departures yesterday and were unable to travel due to flight cancellations.

The special services were primarily directed to passengers traveling to Monterrey, one of the routes with the highest number of affected passengers.

As part of the operation, travelers were instructed to go directly to Terminal 2 of the airport, where assigned personnel provided guidance and facilitated their access to the new flights.

This strategy helped to organize the response and prevent further complications within the airport terminal. The support was implemented in coordination with federal aviation authorities, who are also working on a comprehensive plan to assist passengers affected by the disruption of Magnicharters’ operations.

The tour airline Magnicharters announced the temporary suspension of its scheduled flights for the next two weeks due to logistical problems that are preventing the normal operation of its services, according to a statement issued in Mexico City on April 11, 2026.

In the document, the company informed the public that the measure is due to operational difficulties affecting its ability to meet its established schedules. Although the specific causes of these problems were not detailed, the airline assured that it is already working to resolve the situation as soon as possible and resume normal operations.

“We want to inform our customers that we are addressing this situation with due diligence to resolve it,” the company stated in its official statement, in which it also expressed its regret for the inconvenience caused to passengers.

Magnicharters, which has 30 years of service in the Mexican market, highlighted its track record of providing quality, comfort, and safety to millions of passengers. In this regard, the company reiterated its commitment to customers affected by flight cancellations, emphasizing that its priority is to restore operations as quickly as possible.
